The Butchers Arms, Oakridge Lynch, Stroud, Gloucestershire GL6 7NZ
There are 2 choices to make first! The ‘lanes’ way or the main road way……
Firstly, if you don’t mind little lanes and the pretty route, then this is the most direct route from Frampton Mansell. Turn off the main Cirencester to Stroud Road A419 at the Frampton Mansell Turning – opposite The White Horse and Texaco Filling Station. Follow this road into the village and take the left sharp turn at the Church signposted to Oakridge. Follow this road all the way down to the bottom of the valley; you will pass under the Viaduct. After you go over the little bridge take the right fork to Oakridge. This will take you back up the other side of the valley. Continue all the way to the top; do not turn off at any point. You will reach crossroads at the top of the village and there is a brown knife and fork sign for the Butchers Arms. Turn right and continue along, you will find us along on the right hand side.
If you would prefer the main road way…..
From the Stroud to Cirencester Road A419, take the Toadsmoor Road just along from the Pavilion Indian Restaurant (Former Pub). Follow this road as if you are heading towards Bisley. You will go through the village of Eastcombe, past Sir Thomas Keble School. Continue out of the village and still towards Bisley. Before you reach Bisley, the road will dip and veer left; on this bend is a sign to Oakridge and a Brown knife and fork Butcher’s Arms sign. Turn right here, continue along this road until you reach the next brown Butchers sign, turn left here and at the cross roads just along the very straight road, take the right, again brown knife and fork sign. The Butchers is along on the left.
From Cheltenham & A417
Take the Stroud turning off this main road and go through the village of Birdlip. Take the Stroud turning. When you reach the Foston’s Ash pub, take the straight left exit which leads off this road towards Bisley. Continue along past the Murco Filling Station and continue to Bisley. Go through the village and head out following any signs for Eastcombe. After leaving the village, there is a dip in the road and a brown Butcher’s Arms Knife & Fork sign, take this left here. Continue along this road until you reach the next brown Butchers sign, turn left here and at the cross roads just along the very straight road, take the right, again brown knife and fork sign. The Butchers is along on the left.
